Near the end of their first season, 1000 Islands Private Boat Tours reached out to us looking for help with their website, brand, and imagery. They had just started their business in 2022, and were competing against well-established private tour operations with more than a decade in business.

In our first meeting with 1000 Islands PBT, it quickly became clear that their business had real potential to excel. They had seen moderate success in their first year, but realized that they weren’t really standing out among the handful of tour businesses in the area. Once we had gotten a feel for their business, their customers, and their competition, we planned our approach to the project.
Refreshing their brand identity was step one in the process, and gave us the foundation for the rest of the phases. After discussing with owner Jordan, we decided that brand needed to feel fun and approachable, but trustworthy too given the nature of their business. We opted for a blue, black, and grey color scheme that reflected their needs, with typography that combined a sense of approachability with expertise.
After establishing their brand direction, we needed to start getting visuals that not only matched their brand, but would help place customers into the shoes of someone experiencing the area for the first time. We got to work with a series of shoots featuring their tour boat, major landmarks on the tour route, and photos of owner Jordan. Once we had these ingredients, we moved to the next phase.
With their brand identity and the photography all taken care of, the final task was to build out the website, as well as their online booking & payment processing systems. We followed our usual process for the web design stage, starting with mockups that matched their needs and previewed their site, then moving into production upon approval.
